RCCO Calgary Centre is pleased to announce a noon-hour recital @musicatknox on May 28th at 12pm. Entrance is free and all are welcome.
Amiel Elfert is a young Canadian organist based in Victoria, BC. He is currently working towards his BMus degree at the University of Victoria, where he studies in the Organ Performance program with Dr. Mark McDonald. He has also played in masterclasses and private lessons with leading Organists including David Briggs, Eduardo Bellotti, and Robert Quinney.
Amiel currently serves as Organ Scholar of Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria, where he works with the Choristers and Adult choirs and plays the Hellmuth Wolff Organ. He is also frequently a substitute organist at churches in Greater Victoria.
As a recitalist, he regularly appears in concert in the United States and Canada, and is a finalist in the 2024 Lynnwood Farnam Organ competition in Montreal. He is an active member of both the Royal Canadian College of Organists and the American Guild of Organists.
While not pursuing his musical interests, Amiel enjoys going for walks, reading, and practicing the ancient English art of Change Ringing.
