Fear, Mercy, and the Nature of Us

Hosted by Black Worldschoolers Mobile Bookstore and Imani Willis-Henderson, this workshop is inspired by the poems Allowables by Nikki Giovanni and Mercy by Rudy Francisco. Together, we will explore the roots of our fears and the quiet, transformative power of mercy. Facilitated by award-winning storyteller Deborah Asante, the evening will feature a live spoken word reading, guided writing, creative reflection, and optional group sharing in a safe and supportive environment. Writers of all levels are welcome—no experience necessary. Light snacks will be provided. Street parking and a lot across the street are available.
