About this Event

FDL/IPD Seminar | Progressing Development in a Fractured World
Join us on Thursday, October 22, 2026, for a public panel exploring pathways for resilient growth in developing countries amid global geopolitical and geoeconomic turbulence.

This session will analyze the short- and medium-term economic impacts of persistent conflict across different regions, from Latin America to Africa and the Gulf. How have different countries and regions been faring relative to expectations? What can be expected in the coming months? What could the medium-term implications of current dynamics be? What are the mitigating strategies available to different regions of the world, and how can developing countries strengthen both agency and resilience in this context? What can still be expected from multilateral processes and institutions?

Join us for an exciting panel discussion featuring Martin Guzmán, Dorothée Rouzet, Mamo Mihretu, and Ishac Diwan, moderated by Dr Vera Songwe.
