F*CK CANCER

At the Onyx Group, we're committed to building strong community ties and supporting those in need. To that end, we've established Community Social, a non-profit organization that organizes social events to raise awareness and funds for causes we care about. Our latest partnership is with Clough Club, and together we're hosting a charity event called "F*CK CANCER" on June 3rd, 2023.

Our aim is to raise funds for Jennifer and Hunter, who lost their beloved partner and father, Jesse Donahue, to cancer. Jesse was a remarkable person who made significant contributions to the Squamish community, and his passing has affected everyone who knew him.

We invite you to join us at Clough Club for a fantastic evening of delicious cocktails, food, live music, and an incredible raffle, all for a good cause!

Jesse's Story

Jesse Donahue was an exceptional individual with deep ties to the Squamish community. During the time that Jesse and Jen were preparing to become parents to twins, they tragically lost one during pregnancy. While they were going through this heartbreak, they were also going above and beyond for their two dogs fighting with cancer. Unfortunately, Jesse was no stranger to the dreaded C word as he then sadly also received news of his own cancer diagnosis.

In typical Jesse fashion, he and Jen immediately began making lifestyle changes and exploring alternative methods to fight this horrible disease. Jesse was a selfless man who always went the extra mile to assist others. He would gather baseball gear for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic and even donated his own brand-new martial arts equipment to those who were less fortunate.

Jen remained by Jesse’s side throughout his illness. They stayed strong and united as they navigated through this time in their lives while also preparing for the arrival of their child. After Hunter was born, they traveled to Spain for treatment before eventually settling in Mexico.

Sadly, on February 17th, 2023, the world lost Jesse, a special soul, kind-hearted father, partner, and friend. It is difficult to fathom the pain of being a single mother while grieving the loss of a spouse, and no words can alleviate that anguish.

We would like to honor Jesse’s memory by raising awareness of similar situations and by supporting Jen and Hunter as they navigate the upcoming challenges, just as Jesse would have done for anyone in his community.
