Join us for International Women’s Day 2026 with Professor Joyce Harper, exploring women’s health, research and leadership.
About this Event

To mark International Women’s Day 2026, the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health is delighted to welcome Professor Joyce Harper as our keynote speaker.

This inspiring afternoon will bring together staff, students and researchers to celebrate the achievements of women in science, medicine and health, while creating space for discussion, reflection and connection across the Faculty.

Professor Joyce Harper is a renowned reproductive biologist and educator, widely recognised for her work in IVF, genetics and women’s health, as well as her commitment to public engagement and evidence-based conversations around fertility and reproductive health. In her keynote talk, Women’s Health – Past, Present and Future, she will reflect on her career journey, the evolving landscape of reproductive science, and the opportunities and responsibilities facing the next generation of researchers and clinicians.

Following the keynote, attendees are invited to take part in the interactive poster session showcasing research from across the Faculty. Alongside this we will have charity stands from local organisations. This informal session offers the chance to explore new ideas, ask questions and celebrate the breadth of work led by women and allies across biology, medicine and health.

The afternoon will conclude with refreshments and lunch, providing further opportunity to network, share experiences and continue the conversations sparked by the keynote and posters. Lunch will be servied at 1pm in the Mochael Smith Lounge- Please indicate on the booking form if you plan to attend.

Whether you are a student considering your future path, a researcher seeking inspiration, or a colleague keen to support and celebrate International Women’s Day, this event promises to be welcoming, thought-provoking and engaging.

We are aware that not all guests can join in person so we are pleased to advise we will be recording this session. Please email [email protected] if you would like the link when available.
