About this Event

🎨 Creating Together: Family Canvas Painting Workshop

A Father's Day Creative Experience for Children and Their Favourite Grown-Up

Celebrate Father's Day with a special creative experience at Liberation Art Gallery, where children and the important adults in their lives can come together to create a meaningful piece of art to treasure.

Whether it's a dad, stepdad, grandparent, carer, guardian, uncle, or another special person, this workshop is designed to celebrate the relationships that help us grow, support us, and make us feel loved.

Together, you'll work on a large shared canvas, using colour, paint, mark-making, and creative prompts to create an expressive artwork that reflects your unique connection. There is no right or wrong way to make the piece; this workshop is about spending quality time together, having fun, and creating lasting memories through art.

🎨 What You'll Do

Working side by side, you'll:

  • Create a collaborative painting on a large canvas
  • Explore colour, texture, and expressive mark-making
  • Respond to simple creative prompts designed to spark conversation and connection
  • Build a unique artwork that reflects your relationship
  • Take home a finished canvas as a lasting keepsake

No previous painting experience is needed. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and focuses on creativity, connection, and enjoyment rather than artistic skill.

🌿 A Meaningful Way to Celebrate

In our busy lives, it can be difficult to find time to slow down and connect. This workshop offers a relaxed and welcoming space to be creative together, share stories, laugh, experiment, and make something that captures a moment in time.

The artwork you create becomes more than just a painting; it becomes a shared memory and a reminder of the people who matter most.

✨ What's Included
  • 1.5-hour guided painting workshop
  • One large canvas per pair (one adult and one child)
  • All materials provided
  • Tea, coffee, and refreshments
  • Protective apron for adult and child (however, feel free to bring a 'messy' t-shirt for your child to ensure full coverage of any clothing)
  • Your completed canvas to take home

👨‍👧 Who Is It For?

This workshop is open to children and the important adults in their lives. We welcome all families and recognise that Father's Day can mean different things to different people.
