FATES: A Multidisciplinary Art Show

Inspired by the three fates of Greek mythology that weave the strings of destiny, FATES: a Multidisciplinary Art Show explores how fate is thrust upon us, and the lengths we go to to change our own fate. Weaving themes of luck, fortune, circumstance, superstition, narrative, and myth, this show features work from emerging artists of all disciplines.

We are excited to bring writers, poets, performers, musicians, and visual artists together into one space and celebrate and uplift emerging creatives in Vancouver!

This opening night event starts at 6pm, featuring paintings, drawings, zines and sculptures displayed in the BMO Theatre Centre Atrium. At 7:30 PM, we will have six short performances followed by mingling, drinks, and good times into the evening. There will also be merchandise for sale from our artists, and an interactive tarot reading theatre performance after 8:30pm.

Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with 20% of our proceeds being donated to the Pacific Association of First Nations Women, and the rest of the proceeds being split evenly and paid back to our artists.

ACCESSIBILITY

The BMO Theatre Centre is wheelchair accessible, and has physically accessible and gender-neutral washrooms.

Priority seating is held for those with accessibility needs. We ask that patrons request accessible seats in their order notes and we will reserve accessible seating on a first come, first serve basis. Patrons can also email Promethean at [email protected] to chat about any access needs and how we can offer support.

Tickets to the event may be returned up to one week prior to the performance date, after which they may be transferred to a different performance date. Promethean is an ardent supporter of the community, so we will donate 6% of all ticket revenue to a local Indigenous charity.

This festival is generously supported by the Arts Club Theatre Company, Arts Club Youth & Access Commitee, and the City of Vancouver. Promethean is also supported by our incredible community with generous support from donors, volunteers, supporters, and collaborators. As a small theatre, Promethean needs all the help we can get. Fates Fest is theatre festival/celebration dedicated to the advancement of femme and non-binary voices in key creative roles. This year Fates Fest (created and produced by Promethean Theatre) is excited to bring three staged readings, 2 co-presentations,all at the Olympic Village Stage and BMO Theatre Centre.

During the daytime, join us for free workshops, panels, staged readings, item swaps, and events for the community to engage, learn, and come together while celebrating the strength and joy of femme, gender-non conforming, and non-binary voices!
