Fate Now Conquers
About this Event
Hailed as "a player to watch" by The Boston Globe and ClevelandClassical.com, cellist Jonah Ellsworth joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 2023. A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts and a graduate of the Yale School of Music and the New England Conservatory, he has won critical acclaim for his concerto performances with the Boston Philharmonic, Akron Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony, Symphony by the Sea, and New England Conservatory Philharmonia, among others. He joins Apollo to perform Haydn's effervescent and brilliantly virtuosic Cello Concerto in D major on a program that also features Carlos Simon's powerful Fate Now Conquers, selections from Mozart's ballet music from Idomeneo, and Beethoven's exuberant Symphony No. 8.
