Over eighteen months in the making (the idea originated during a Fat Chance reunion in Leeds in October 2022), this fundraiser is being organised in co-operation with Macmillan Cancer Support. All proceeds will be going to Macmillan and Cancer Research UK. Obviously all the bands are offering their services for free for which we are hugely grateful. There will be six bands performing on the night: Fat Chance / Wingback / The Bonnie Mac Band / Bridge of Sighs / Holy Diva UK and Meanstreak, so music-wise there's pretty much something for everyone.
We all know the truism about everybody in some way and to some degree having being impacted by cancer. Amongst the bands that are playing are cancer survivors, people who have been bereaved by that god awful plague, others who have been affected by it in one way or another, and people working in the front line for the NHS.
Above you will find the link to our GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the cause. It will also be possible to make donations (IN CASH!) at the Duck and Drake on the night of the event, and afterwards via the fundraiser which will remain active until mid-December.
GoFundMe processes stipulate that all organisers set a 'target figure' 'target figure' for their particucular fundraiser, hence the £1000 associated with our campaign. However, there is no actual final total 'target figure' to aim for in terms of how much this fundraiser hopes to generate; that's always a bit intimidating, and it can create an unrealistic sense of expectation. We would just humbly ask that anyone who is in a position to do so might consider making a donation either via the GoFundMe route or on the night itself.

The projected oder of proceedings on the night is as follows (as always, subject to change...):
6.00pm: Event opens with an absolute banging playlist!
7.00pm: FAT CHANCE - The 'legendary' Leeds-based rock covers band that no one ever saw or heard unless they frequented The Fenton, especially on The Kidder's birthday. Kicking off the evening with a selection of head nodding, foot tapping rock classics from the likes of The Rolling Stones / The Beatles (spiced up Van Halen-style) / Tom Petty / ZZ Top / The Doors....etc.
7.45pm: WINGBACK - Basiclly FAT CHANCE with the welcome addition of guitarist Simon Morse (of the South Coast band ASK THE GIRL) who is driving up from distant Brighton (!) to perform a handful of songs for your delectation. Yep, you guessed it, it's a band formed especially for this gig and designed to keep the mood buoyantly energetic with some choice cuts from the back catalogues of Thin Lizzy / The Black Crowes / Status Quo / Free....etc.
8.30pm: THE BONNIE MAC BAND - Relatively recently reformed (10/10 for alliteration skills...) blues rock band that performs locally and nationally. Bringing you stylish, upbeat tracks from Larry McCray / Joanne Shaw Taylor / Bruce, Baker and Moore / Janis Joplin / Rory Gallagher / Stevie Ray Vaughan and Aerosmith.
9.15pm: BRIDGE OF SIGHS - The Yorkshire-based Robin Trower tribute band currently undergoing a revival, following a two-year hiatus, in preparation for an April 2025 appearance at Leicester O2 Academy as part of HRH BLUES IX. Performing songs mainly from the 1974 classic RTB album 'Bridge of Sighs'.
10.00pm: HOLY DIVA UK - Popular rising tribute band to the music and career of the legendary hard rock / heavy metal titan Ronnie James Dio. Culled from a regular two-hour set for this particular night are tracks from the classic Black Sabbath and Dio albums Heaven and Hell / The Mob Rules / Holy Diver and Last in Line.
10.45pm: MEANSTREAK - The last ever performance of the current line up of the well respected and, dare we say, accomplished Leeds-based hard rock covers band. A regular feature in the Duck and Drake and many other local and national rock venues since circa 2010, this is your last chance to sample Meanstreak's faithful interpetations of material by the likes of Iron Maiden / Y&T / GUNS N' ROSES / KISS / RAINBOW...etc
