About this Event
Our last Fash-ism is a Drag event sold out, raising nearly $4,000 in support. Those funds helped send hundreds of people from New York City to Washington, D.C. for roundtrip travel—every weekend for six consecutive weeks—to show up peacefully in front of the White House. What started as a night of performance became real, sustained action powered entirely by community.
But what people talked about most afterward wasn’t just the money raised, it was how the night made them feel. Audience members shared that it was something they needed: a chance to be together, to breathe, to laugh, to cry, and to respond to everything unfolding in our country not with fear or isolation, but with connection. We believe in fighting hate with joy, because joy itself is an act of resistance.
Fash-ism is a Drag is a community benefit drag show that brings together drag artists, musicians, comedians, organizers, and speakers for an evening of performance, connection, and collective care. Produced and hosted by Drag Race Alum Brita Filter, the event uses art, humor, and joy as powerful tools to bring people together during a critical moment for our communities.
All proceeds from the event support @refusefascismnyc, helping cover the real, tangible costs of community work: renting accessible meeting spaces, printing educational materials, and providing the resources people need to gather, learn, and stay engaged. Every performer, volunteer, DJ, organizer, and speaker involved donates their time, ensuring that funds raised go directly toward supporting the work itself.
Hosted at the historic Stonewall Inn, Fash-ism is a Drag centers joy, visibility, and solidarity. It offers more than a night of drag and performance, it creates space for people to feel less alone, to remember their power, and to choose community over despair.
We invite you to join us for another powerful evening of art, connection, and collective care—one that reminds us that showing up together still matters, and that joy, shared openly, can carry us forward.
