Please join us for our 2026 Fall Harvest Day and help us mark a new chapter for Chicago FarmWorks!

For years, Chicago FarmWorks has demonstrated the power of urban agriculture to nourish communities, expand access to fresh food, and create opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. During Harvest Day, Heartland Human Care Services (HHCS) will celebrate the farm’s accomplishments while announcing a new chapter: the transition of Chicago FarmWorks to NeighborSpace, a trusted partner that will carry the farm’s mission forward and help it reach its full potential.

HHCS invites community members, partners, sponsors, and supporters to join us for Harvest Day, a special celebration honoring the legacy and impact of Chicago FarmWorks on Chicago’s West Side. The event will recognize the current team who positioned the farm to thrive, the many individuals and organizations who have helped cultivate the farm’s success, and will celebrate a future rooted in community stewardship, sustainability, and continued growth.

Event offerings include:

• Free food and drinks from a local food truck
• Local vendors with specialty items for purchase (herbal tinctures, soaps, pickled veggies, and more!)
• A "pick your own pumpkin" patch grown right on the farm *There is limited supply of pumpkins. First come, first served.
• A pumpkin painting station
• An apple cider pressing station with fresh, locally grown apples
• A bonfire & smore's station
• A "make your own flower bouquet" bar with donated flowers from local farmer Cornelia McNamara
• A garlic planting volunteer activity for those who want to get their hands in the soil. This is a kid friendly activity! Please Note: This activity will take place at 3:30PM if you'd like to participate.
• A photo station with a fall festive backdrop
• Lawn games to play while connecting with each other and sipping a warm beverage
