Learn the process of seed saving for vegetables and flowers, and take home some seeds of your own to plant next spring
About this Event

Learn to save and store seeds from your vegetable and flower plants through hands-on practice at The Battery Urban Farm.   This workshop will cover the various approaches to saving seed from different plant families.

RSVP is required; registration will open one month in advance of event.

PLEASE NOTE that in response to the COVID-19 pandemic we require all participants to wear masks covering nose and mouth while on the farm.

Location: Meet at the entrance to The Battery Urban Farm, marked on this map. (Directions: Enter the park on State Street and Broadway near the 4/5 head house or the Netherlands Memorial flag pole: Walk around the left side of Battery Oval lawn towards the harbor. The entrance to the farm is located on the lefthand side just after the Bikeway.)

What to bring: Please wear closed-toe shoes and any layers and sun protection you will need to be comfortable outside for the afternoon.  This program will occur light rain or shine; in the event of inclement weather, participants will be e-mailed in advance with notice of any changes.
