Attention all foodies! If you’re a gormandizer, an epicurean, a bon vivant or you're just a bit hungry and fancy eating something other than a bag of salt’n’vinegar… we’ve got you!
We are excited to announce that we are bringing a weekly farmers market to Hemel Hempstead Old Town.
Each Friday from 12 May to 29 September, a selection of local traders will have a variety of items for sale between 12noon and 6pm.
You’ll find plenty of things to make your mouth water or which spark joy! Think freshly baked goods, jams, preserves and honey, A butcher, a delicatessen, a greengrocer. Perhaps a plant seller or a florist or a stall offering fresh, brightly coloured eggs from large to teeny-tiny. If you appreciate a robust craft beer, a bottle of wine ripe for sipping or an unusually flavoured spirit, our farmers market will deliver.
What you won’t find is anything mass produced, bland or boring! (And that includes the organisers!)
Traders are local to the area and are dedicated to offering only the best items, produced in small batches with love and care and excellent value for money. They’re experts in their foodie-field, artisans who love what they do and are proud of what they produce. If you appreciate everything organic, enjoy experiencing bold, new flavours or just want to try something a bit different from what you’d usually buy when you do the big-shop, you’ll find it here.
You’ll find stalls on St Mary’s Square and in St Mary’s Churchyard. Parking is available in St Mary’s Square, on the bays along the High Street and is free for one hour. This should give you plenty of time to wander and chat to the traders while you decide what to buy.
We do just want to mention that this is a brand new venture and we know the farmers market will need time to grow. But we are committed to bringing new events and experiences to the beautiful Old Town High Street and, after all, every successful market has to start somewhere!
