Join us for a farm visit hosted by Andrew Dale.Previously a dairy research scientist at the Agri-Food and
Biosciences Institute, Andrew returned home in 2016 and took over the 70ha family farm from his parents, Jackie and Diane. The crossbred herd, which originated from a Fleckvieh base, now uses a mix of Holstein, Viking Red and Jersey genetics. In the past eight years, the farm’s milk output has increased by 35% alongside a significant improvement in milk solids whilst retaining similar cow numbers.
