Farm to Preschool Garden Design Training

Childcare Centers will plan gardens for their outdoor learning environments using photos of their gardens, ideas, and the Natural Learning Initiative gardening activity guide. Each garden will be planned around a approved list of age-appropriate plants that are edible and non-toxic. Centers will plan gardens based on their curriculum, teacher and student interest, and STEAM activities planned for the year. This training will include starting seeds in the classrooms, covering needed materials and tools and timeline to start seeds. STEAM break out activities will be offered. Each center will leave with a garden design, seeds, seed starting packets, a book and activities to do in the classroom, the Natural Learning Initiative Gardening activity guide and Reach for the Stars guide to gardening and QRIS. 2 CHC
