About Term 2: Join in the adventures of the Mapmakers and try out ink making, map drawing, and nature journaling. We'll also try out recipes and folkcrafts from the book, like tomato jam and quilting. The activities in this term are based on the graphic novel Mapmakers and the Lost Magic, by Cameron Chittock and Amanda Castillo. At home reading of the book is optional, but can enhance learning.
What is Farm & Forest School? At Farm & Forest School, children ages 5-13 practice problem solving, communication, critical thinking, and compassion through hands-on, play-based outdoor learning. We believe that there's no such thing as bad weather, so plan on being outside exploring, learning, and playing in the sun, rain, and snow. Each session includes engaging educational activities built around a seasonal theme. These adult-led activities, paired with child-led forest freeplay time create the perfect environment for emotional, physical, and academic growth.
