Farida Nelson is a charismatic multi-instrumentalist hailing from Azerbaijan (she is also part Ukrainian). She earned her MA in Piano Performance from Baku Music Academy in Azerbaijan, and for a decade she was the first call female bassist and chief songwriter for the #1 rock band, Unformal, and pop-duo, Milk & Kisses (each group performed at the Eurovision National Finals in 2008 and 2010).
Farida will be performing classics including Azeri jazz, R&B, rock and her own compositions of new music composed for multi-instrumentation.
Farida's debut performance at The Back Room in July was nearly sold-out, so don't miss this unique opportunity to see her playing bass, guitar, keyboards and singing with a live drummer and The Back Room's own Sam Rudin on congas.
This is an exhilarating show with laser light and fog machine effects and musical wizardry that will leave you mesmerized.
Tickets are $25 general admission; $15 for students and seniors. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available at the link below, or you may purchase your tickets at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door (ATMs are nearby).
The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own food and adult beverages with no additional corkage fee. The venue is ADA accessible. If you need more information or have any questions, please call us: #510-381-1997.
