About this Event
As a final celebration of Iván Argote’s High Line Plinth commission , the High Line presents Farewell, Dinosaur, a festive send-off on March 21 offering visitors a memorable opportunity to say goodbye before the artwork departs in early April for its exciting next roost. After 18 months of adoration for Dinosaur, the monumental 21-foot aluminum pigeon that has watched over the Spur, we are throwing a joyful farewell party. Visitors are invited to come dressed up, bring their pigeon-loving friends, and pose for a professional photograph at the foot of the sculpture to mark the occasion.
The afternoon will feature a live set by DJ Tommy Sparks alongside a lively lineup of activities throughout the Spur, including family workshops and pigeon-themed trivia. Miriam Abrahams, winner of Pigeon Fest’s pigeon impersonation pageant, returns to host bingo, with special prizes. Dinosaur artist Iván Argote will also be on hand to sign limited-edition posters from the High Line Shop’s pop-up, with other Dinosaur-themed merch also available for purchase.
Register by Monday, March 16, for a chance at an exclusive, up-close-and-personal experience with Dinosaur on the day of the program between 3:30 and 4pm. Invitations to the special experience will be sent to randomly selected registrants on Tuesday, March 17. Participation will need to be confirmed within 48 hours, or the invitation will be forfeited to another randomly selected registrant.
We encourage all persons with disabilities to attend. To request additional information regarding accessibility or accommodations at a program, please contact [email protected]. Program venues are accessible via wheelchair, and ASL interpretation can be arranged two weeks in advance.
In the event of inclement weather, Farwell, Dinosaur will be moved to the following day, March 22, 2026.
