Fanush Festival 2024 - A Heritage Culture of Kolkata

Fanush paper made hot air balloon was once the integral part of North Calcutta “Babu” Culture. Today the art of Fanush making is a dying art as the new generation has shifted its attention into other sources of entertainment

Although it may sound simple fanush making has never been an easy job and requires not only knowledge but also calculation skills trials & errors which take years to make perfect desired shape size balance and air-buoyancy.

With the fast spreading concept of noise less environment friendly it will be a pleasure to see our Bengal’s one of the oldest culture & sport the “FANUSH” taking the skies in the broad day light with bright colors different shapes and gigantic size.
