Fantastical Workshop at Mandel Public Library 8/24

Be a part of something truly magical!

Attendees are invited to participate in interactive workshops to create sculptures of their most imaginative creatures. Materials will be provided, but you’re encouraged to bring your own for a personal touch. A professional artist will be on-site to provide guidance and inspiration.

FREE to attend and participate. All ages welcome.

What to expect:

• Create a fantastical creature out of recyclables and found materials.
• Sculpt a creature you can wear, carry, or pull (ex. in a wagon).
• Count on the guidance from a professional artist.
• Work on your own creation or join a group project.
• At the end of the workshop, sign up for the culminating event - The Fantastical Walk to showcase and parade your creation for all to see!

What to bring:

Materials are provided. However, attendees are welcome to bring their own found/repurposed objects that spark inspiration.

TIP: You're creating art! Consider bringing an apron or art shirt to this event.

9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. – Check-in (please be on time)

10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. – Workshop:

• 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. – Introduction, Instructions and Inspiration!
• 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. – Find Your Materials and Ideate
• 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. – Build or Co-Build a Creature

Carry, pull, or wear your creation in a community procession!

Workshop attendees are encouraged to sign up for The Fantastical Walk to showcase their creation in a procession from City Hall Courtyard to the Great Lawn during the WPB GreenMarket - Saturday, October 26, 2024 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Want to participate in The Fantastical Walk but can't attend a workshop?

You can create at home and register to walk your creation in the procession. Please provide a picture and short description of your creation through this link. Repurposed or recycled materials must be used to create your fantastical creature.
