Conference Theme: “FANHS 40: Past, Present, and Future”
The year 2022 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS). Dr. Dorothy Laigo Cordova and Dr. Fred Cordova’s passion for Filipino American history led them to establish FANHS in 1982. The 19th Biennial FANHS National Conference will return right to where it all began: in Seattle, Washington, at the site where the first FANHS Conference was held in 1987: Seattle University.
The #FANHS2022 Conference Theme is “FANHS 40: Past, Present, and Future”. During this conference, we will remember, revisit, and reclaim the rich history of Filipino Americans. We will share current research projects and learn how historical issues still affect us today, while attending workshops on how to collect, disseminate, and preserve history for the future.
Sponsored by the FANHS National Office and hosted by the FANHS Greater Seattle Chapter, the #FANHS2022 Conference will include three days of panels, workshops, roundtables, films, plenary sessions, General Membership Meeting and Election of Trustees, and special events, including an Authors’ Reception, dance, entertainment, and a Saturday night dinner.
This is a hybrid conference: Registration options include Virtual Admission and a limited number of Tickets for In-Person attendance.
