Para esta 5ta edición, ProyectoTEATRO une fuerzas con varias organizaciones y patrocinadores para ofrecerle a la comunidad de Austin una serie de talleres culturales y actividades artísticas para las familias que preparan a la comunidad para la hermosa noche de Día de Muertos el 2 de Noviembre:

El día que todos los vivos en Austin, TX esperan ha llegado: “5to Fandango de los Muertos”, una noche mística en las penumbras del panteón San José, donde la comunidad podrá ser parte de las tradiciones auténticas del Día de Muertos para honrar los recuerdos de nuestros seres queridos, con presentaciones teatrales y musicales bajo las estrellas, decorando tumbas con miles de flores naturales de cempasúchil y cientos de velas. Te invitamos a que te caracterices usando el Día de Muertos como tu inspiración y tráete una cobija si gustas sentarte en el camposanto.
Este año, el Fandango se presentará en formato híbrido: Presencial en el cementerio San José (con cubrebocas) y de manera virtual por Facebook Live. El evento es gratuito como es tradición, pero este año tienen la opción de hacer una donación.

The day everyone is waiting for: The “5th Fandango de los Muertos”, a mystical evening in the candle-lit San José Cemetery, where the entire community can take part in the authentic traditions of Day of the Dead. From decorating tombstones with thousands of marigolds and candles to theatrical and musical performances that honor the memories of our loved ones, this under-the-stars event is unlike any in the city. Come dressed in your best Day of the Dead inspired creation and bring a blanket if you wish to sit down on the grounds.
This year the Fandango will be presented in a hybrid format: In-person at the San José (with facemasks) and streamed virtually through Facebook Live. The event is free as per tradition, but this year there's an option to make a donation! Spread the word and RSVP! Each ticket comes with a complimentary piece of Day of the Dead bread!
