Great news!!! Mark your calendars. We will be having our FIRST Husky Hockey Fan Club gathering at my house in Maple Grove on **Saturday, September 6 from 4:00pm-???? **(date chosen becuase it's after Labor Day, won't interfere with the Vikings game on Sunday, Fantasy Football Drafts will be over, and two players are free.)
I just got off the phone with **Joe Jensen. He and Billy Hengen **will be here to talk, sign autographs, and take photos. They are really excited! **Brian Leitza** will be here if his schedule allows and I am working on two more former greats. I will be able to give the time frame the players will be here in August once they get their schedules set.
Any and all Husky Hockey fans are welcome. I live in a cul-de-sac and have a fenced in backyard that is .4 of an acre so there will be plenty of room. There is also a park behind my house with GaGa Ball, basketball court, swings, slides, zip line, and more for the kids.
The only thing I worry about is making sure my lawn looks at least half as good as Steve Tilseth lawn!!:) Seriously, the man's lawn is in better condition than The White House Lawn!
Much more info will be coming regarding party details including food, games/contests to raise $, silent auction and more. As of now I am thinking hot dogs and burgers and BYOB. My friend is a chef and he is willing to do the grilling for us.
**Any ideas are welcome**. Let's say your kid has a band and needs an audience...let me know. Have something to auction off? Cool! Know a player or former player who can come? AWESOME!
As far as the club. Same deal. More info coming regarding membership dues/benefits, how $ we raise will be allocated, future gatherings, meeting up before games, road trips, and more.
So mark your calendars and** RSVP as soon as you know if you can attend. Please include how many will be coming with you. **This will be a kid friendly event! **RAIN OR SHINE**. (we can set up tents.) The more...the merrier!!! Lets generate some excitement for a FRESH season!! **GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!**
