In May, a selection of dazzling silver objects will go on display as part of the exhibition Striking Objects: Contemporary Japanese Metalwork. Behind the scenes, how do we care for a material that tarnishes so quickly? In this hands-on workshop for children ages 6 to 11 with adult participation, explore how conservators preserve silver objects; then, experiment with real silver using your newly acquired conservation skills.

This program is brought to you by the museum’s Department of Conservation and Scientific Research. There will be two sessions, each lasting about an hour and a half. Please register for one session only.
