About this Event

Create your very own wooden spoon with traditional greenwood-working tools and equipment.

A spokeshave is a very safe old fashioned woodworking tool ideal for children to whittle a stick of greenwood into a unique spoon with the help of a shavehorse to keep it steady. Geraint, the tutor, will give an introductory talk and demonstration to get you going, then offer individual guidance to everyone to ensure you go home with a spoon to be proud of.

Suitable for 6+

Workshops on Saturday 2 July and Sunday Wednesday 3 July, at 10am, 12pm or 2pm each day.

  • Storyboat area next to the picnic benches by the Stable yard.
  • Dress for the weather as this is an outdoor event.
  • Wheelchair access.
  • Suitable for children 6+
  • All materials included.
