About this Event
Join us at Zora’s Place for a special storytime with Chicago author Clothilde Ewing as we celebrate the release of , the heartwarming finale to her beloved picture book series about friendship, family, and finding home.
About the Author
Clothilde Ewing is a former journalist, political communicator, and Oprah Show producer who now writes picture books centering joyful, imaginative Black children. After years of working in newsrooms, campaigns, and philanthropy, she was inspired to write her debut children’s book after reading a New York Times essay titled “Black Kids Don’t Want to Read About Harriet Tubman All the Time.”
She’s now the author of the Stella series, which includes Stella Keeps the Sun Up and the forthcoming Stella and Roger on the Move. Her mission is simple but powerful: to create stories where children of color are not defined just by struggle, but by curiosity, adventure, and belonging.
She lives in Chicago with her husband and two children—and believes kids deserve books that are both mirrors and windows to their lives.
