Family Story Time: Hiking
In partnership with the Arlington Public Library, this interactive experience invites children and families to discover the joys of reading, hiking, and spending time on the trails together.
The program begins with an engaging story time featuring nature-themed books about hiking, outdoor adventures, and exploring the natural world. After the stories, participants will head outside for a short, easy walk with Dr. Ellen Ravkind to practice basic trail skills and explore the surrounding environment.
Along the way, families will learn simple hiking tips, trail safety, and how to observe plants, animals, and habitats found right here in North Texas.
This program is designed for young learners and their families who want to build confidence outdoors, spark curiosity, and enjoy meaningful time in nature together. It’s the perfect introduction to hiking for little explorers!
