“Drum Talk” audience members will embark on a music journey, learning basic techniques of drumming from Africa and Latin America- with some Carolina spice. Using the rhythm of words and language, participants will learn some of the building blocks of music, steady beat, groove, phrasing, call and response, dynamics and improvisation. The only requirement is to be present; instruments will be provided.

Los miembros de la audiencia de “Drum Talk” se embarcarán en un viaje musical, aprenderán técnicas básicas de percusión de África y América Latina con algunas influencias de las Carolinas. A través del uso del ritmo de las palabras y el lenguaje, los participantes aprenderán algunos de los componentes básicos de la música, el ritmo constante, el compás, las frases, la llamada y la respuesta, dinámica e improvisación.
