Terrain & paths: Saltwell Valley is a semi-wild nature/green space – ground is a mix of grass, woodland and open valley, with some unpaved and uneven sections; the adjoining Whitchurch Railway Path (which crosses the valley) is a resurfaced, gently graded shared path, but the detours off it into the valley down to the river (optional) is very steep.
Wheelchairs & prams: The railway path itself is level and hard-surfaced, but venturing into the valley/nature reserve area (optional) may not be wheelchair or pram-friendly throughout.
Public transport: Nearest bus service is the 376 (Bristol to Wells), which stops on the A37 Wells Road at Whitchurch Village, a short walk from the valley; no rail station directly nearby.
Drop-off point: No formal drop-off point identified – can use the Whitchurch Village end of Staunton Lane, or the Craydon Road/Stockwood entrance to the railway path.
Parking: No dedicated on-site car park; on-street parking in surrounding areas (nearby options include Hungerford Gardens, a short distance away, and streets around Whitchurch Village).
Accessible toilets: None on site. Nearest accessbile community toilet at The Yeoman: 700 Wells Road, Whitchurch, BristolPostcode BS14 9HX.
Other support: Quiet nature space with woodland and brook views; benches are available near site setup.
