The District 6910 leadership team believes that it’s important for Rotarians to have the opportunity to get to know each other on a district-wide level more than once a year. That’s why they have set the stage for an annual Fall District 6910 Family of Rotary Tailgate and Picnic on Saturday, October 19. The event will be held rain or shine at the Piedmont Athens Community Garden while the Dawgs are playing football in Austin, Texas.
Rotarians, Rotaractors, family and friends are invited to bring their tents and food to share for an unforgettable experience.
Why a tailgate party? As we all know the district conference will feature a sports theme this year and what do you do at sporting events? Tailgate. Besides great food, there will be an adjacent playground and inflatables for children, contests and games of chance for Rotarians, and a chance to socialize with new and old friends.
Specifically, kids will enjoy:
• An inflatable bounce house and slide
• A bubble machine
• Sidewalk chalk art
• Giant Connect Four and Jenga games
• Corn hole
Of course, Rotarians and clubs will be able to prove their tailgating skills and win extravagant prizes by taking part in the Best Club Tailgate Decorations and Best Club Tailgate Food competitions.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite team colors and bring food and drink for their guests plus one more.
The Community Garden is located at 242 King Avenue, Athens. Tailgating will be set up inside the park, not adjacent to vehicles. Visit DACdb and make sure you select District Events to register your attendance before October 11.
