Attention families! On Saturday, April 27 from 9am – 3pm, join birding enthusiasts and nature lovers between the lagoons at Dead Horse Ranch State Park for a free day of family fun in nature. There will be activities and exhibits for the whole family to enjoy! There will be exhibitions with live reptiles and birds, paintings from featured artists, plus bird and watershed activities and free family nature walks!
When your family joins one of our free nature walks, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in our 2024 Verde Valley Community BioBlitz by helping to collect observations about the species you see along your walk. By recording the creatures and plants you see, you will help create valuable data that helps our habitat restoration experts understand changes in our environment and make decisions about how to keep the Verde healthy and flowing.
On Free Family Day, your family will learn about our species and habitats, and we hope your young ones will leave inspired to become the river protectors of the future.
