Children, along with a parent or caregiver, will enjoy a day at the Nature Center learning about plants and animals of Kentucky from our trained naturalists. These 1.5 hour programs include an activity and a hike in our preserve! After the program, we encourage you to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy some time in our Nature Play Area. We look forward to exploring with you! Programs are limited to 15 participants. (Parent/Caregivers must also register themselves as a participant)

Meet our live snakes and turtles, plus get a chance to touch bones and fur from various native animals.

Birds in My Backyard
Saturday, February 7 and 21, 10-11:30am
Discover the anatomy of birds and how they are adapted to live in specific environments. Visit our bird blind and learn birding techniques on our trails.

Have you ever wondered the difference between an insect and a bug? Learn the answer to these questions and many more as we explore the complex world of crawly critters and the role they play in our environment.

All About Plants
Saturday, April 4 and 18, 10-11:30am
Explore the mysteries of the plant world and investigate the anatomy of plants! Take a trip to the sensory garden and a hike in the forest to identify spring ephemerals.
