Family Mud Run 2023

"Mud is the Way"  

Time to get down and dirty at Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls! On August 12, 2023 at 10:00 am )(Competitive), 11:00 am, or 12:00 pm.

We will be taking Grit League's kid friendly obstacles and adding lots and lots of MUD for a Fun Run Obstacle Course for all ages and abilities!!!

This year we will have a competitive race at 10:00 AM. This will be a 2 lap course of approximately 1 mile per lap and will include an extra section for this heat only. Age groups will be Masters, Adult, Teen, Youth, and Kids. Top 3 in each gender/age group will get an award! Participants will get two tickets to the Open Heat raffles. In addition, Competitive Heat participants will also get entry into one of the two open heats. (Basically you race at 10:00am on a 2 mile course and then you can rest up a bit and do the fun run at 11:00 or Noon to earn raffle tickets). For the competitive race you cannot have help and there will be penalties for missing/skipping obstacles. Accordingly we do not recommend this for younger kids.

We will also have 2 open heats at 11:00 am and Noon. The open heat course will be about 1/2 mile long. You will have 45 minutes to complete as many laps as you can and you will earn a raffle ticket for each lap you complete. For Open heats you can help and have help and just try your best on obstacles. This is great for all ages and abilities.

Cost is $25 for Competitive and $20 for the Open Division. There is also an Open "Family Pass" Option for $50.00 (must be immediate family and includes entry into an Open Division Race) and a Competitive "Family Pass" Option for $60.00. Cost goes up if registering the day of to $30 for Competitive, $25 for Open, and $60 Open "Family Pass". Grit League kids can use a race from their race pack (either Open or Competitive) to race.

Spectators and parking are free! So if you just want to see a bunch of people getting muddy, come by and check it out. 

Wild and crazy costumes are welcome and encouraged for this event, as long as they are family friendly! And don't forget to bring a towel and a change of clothes because you will get muddy! We will have some hoses to get you cleaned off a bit, but expect a bit of a wait and to not get all the way clean. A good strategy seems to be to bring some plastic bags/towels to line your seats.

We will send an email to all registered participants about a week before the event to provide you with any updates.
