Franky Five Star by German director Birgit Möller depicts two worlds: the outside world and the inner world of the young woman who wants to be called Franky. The inner world is a dilapidated former five-star hotel where, besides Franky, Mrs. Franke, Ella, Lenny, and Frank also reside. The four other characters in the inner-world hotel are extreme manifestations of various aspects of Franky’s personality. An elevator connects the hotel to the outside world. Depending on which of the characters takes the elevator to the outside world, Franky’s life repeatedly spirals out of control.
