Reading with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children: An Event for Families! Please join Dr. Jessica Scott and her Deaf Education students at Georgia State University to learn about different reading activities you can use with your deaf or hard of hearing elementary-aged child. GSU students will have activities prepared that you can complete at home with your child to support their reading development. We will have several interactive presentations, each with a different literacy activity. These activities will be fun, hands-on, and can be completed using resources that you likely have at home or are free to find online!
You will leave the event with informational texts about each activity, plus the opportunity to have seen it in action!
Where: Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Middle School Multipurpose Room
890 N Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, GA 30021
When: Friday, April 11 from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Who: Any family member of a deaf or hard of hearing child (elementary-age is the focus but older or younger children are welcome). Please bring your child along!
