Are you wondering what we have for you to do at the Family History Celebration? Here are a few things that you can expect.There will be family history stories to share, genealogies to display, a wonderful dance exhibition to dazzle you and many other things.
Stay tune to this site for more about what to expect. We will have demonstrations of some of the features of FamilySearch, the finest genealogy program I have ever seen. All of these offerings are to entice you to do more research to find more and more ancestors to add to your family tree.
Did you ever hear how those billions of records that you search for are made available on line? Would you believe that they were first microfilmed beginning in the 1930's after the invention of the microfilm camera. They were then put into rolls and microfiche cards to be viewed with microfilm readers. We then advanced to digitizing the microfilm to make it easy for computers to process it. That was still tedious work because you still had to scroll from digitized image to digitized image. Then came this beautiful concept of name indexing which allowed you to search by the name of your ancestors. We'll talk more about that process at a later date.
How much easier do you need it to be? Rest assured that there will be some more technical advancements that are coming down the pike. Make family history fun for your family and more can be done.
