Do you enjoy the company of other freethinkers? Do you want to see the beauty of the natural world around you and get a little exercise? Come hike with us along a short section of the AZ National Scenic Trail into Walnut Canyon just outside Flagstaff, AZ.
This is a family event geared towards children and parents who have been to or are interested in attending Camp Quest AZ. For more information on CQAZ visit https://campquestaz.org/
Meet at 9:00AM at the AZ Trail parking area off of USFS road 303.
Take I-40 exit 204 and drive 2.5 miles until the turn for USFS Rd. 303 on the right hand side. There will be a sign for the AZ Trail. Drive 1.7 miles then the trailhead is on the left. This is a dirt road with some rough spots. High clearance vehicles are recommended.
We will walk 30 minutes along the trail, stop for a short break and snack then turn around and walk back. Please bring plenty of water and snacks for an hour hike.
Closed toed shoes, sunscreen, hats, bug spray, water bottles or camelbacks, and cameras are recommended.
The trail can sometimes be narrow and rocky and is located at an elevation of 7,000ft. . This hike is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
For COVID-19 safety precautions, please wear a facemask if you are not yet vaccinated and are not 6ft apart from a participant outside your family group.
