Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) Training with Alex Bridge
About this Event
Across Southend, we are working together to place children and families at the heart of decision-making. Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) is a key part of this city-wide Families First Transformation approach, helping families find their own solutions, supported by professionals who believe in their strengths.
Why FGDM matters
FGDM creates safe, respectful spaces where children and their families can come together with their wider network to make plans for the future. It recognises that families are experts in their own lives and, with the right support, can create meaningful and lasting change for their children.
By embedding FGDM across Southend, we are:
Strengthening family voice and participation
Supporting children to stay connected to their networks
Reducing the need for escalation by building plans earlier
Promoting collaboration across services
