It's time to get ready for school. Get a jump start by getting a book bag and a few school supplies to start the school year off right. Limit one book bag per child. Children must be present.This event will take place on Saturday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for grades K-12, at Hargraves Community Center, 216 Roberson Street, Chapel Hill. Families are asked to not begin lining up until 9:30 a.m.
Book Bags at 10 a.m.
Lunch 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Each child will receive a book bag and a few school supplies and socks, while supplies last. Additionally, we are combining Family Fun Day with our bookbag give away! There will be food, kickball and some free haircuts and braids as well!
Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, Summit Church of Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools, NOW Church, Fred Perry and The Community Church Chapel Hill Unitarian are joining together to present a Community Book Bag Giveaway for local students.
