Create your own lantern to illuminate the Gumption Revival Lantern Parade this Tom Lee Day— October 3! Join Memphis River Parks for a family-friendly lantern workshop at Beale Street Landing (251 Riverside Dr.), where you'll craft your own Tom Lee kerosene lantern, catfish lantern, or illuminated parasol for just $12.
Family Workshop Schedule (Ages 8+):
✨ Saturday, 9/12 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Tom Lee kerosene lantern
✨ Saturday, 9/19 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Catfish lantern
✨ Saturday, 9/26 | 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Illuminated parasol
Workshops are best for ages capable of using scissors and handling glue safely. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Tickets are per lantern—two people may collaborate on one, but no more than two participants per lantern. Please arrive on time to ensure you receive full instructions. Each workshop is limited to 20 participants.
