Family-Friendly Hike at Red Rocks

This is a classic kid-friendly hike that delivers on ease and southwest vibes (despite being in Denver’s backyard). The massive red rocks demand attention from start to finish, as the trail weaves around them. Since the trail is only 1.5 miles with minimal elevation gain, it’s a great for all skill levels. For those craving more though, there are plenty of options between doing “stairs” in the amphitheater or exploring some other nearby trails.

We will meet at the trailhead, adjacent to the Trading Post/Music Hall of Fame, at 8 AM. We will officially start hiking at 8:15 AM.

Liability Waiver: Friendly reminder to sign the waiver before the Trading for Trails hike/event, if we don't already have one on file. Please sign on an annual basis. Meet-up Time: 8 AM (we will begin hiking at 8:15)

Directions: Take US-70 to Exit 259/County Rd. 93. Turn Left on County Rd. 93. Continue on County Rd. 93, which becomes Hog Back Rd. Turn right onto Red Rocks Park Rd. Turn right onto Trading Post Rd. Turn left into the Trading Post parking lot.

Parking: Parking is free, and you can part directly at the trailhead, which is adjacent to the Trading Post and Music Hall Museum. There are bathrooms and other amenities close by.

Essentials for this event: Plenty of water (as there’s minimal shade), backpack, med kit, sun protection, a snack, and proper foot attire (hiking boots, and potentially crampons/spikes if snow conditions exist).
