About this Event
Join James and Daniele from Edible Year to explore Rivelin Valley and find out about the many different varieties of plants and fungi that are edible, medicinal or useful in other ways.
The walk will start and end at Rivelin Cafe, and will be suitable for all ages. Please wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes - the paths can be wet and muddy at this time of year.
Our family foraging walks are pay-what-you-can - please enter your donation amount when you book. Recommended donations are between £10 and £20 for this activity, but you are welcome to donate a different amount - we do not want cost to be a barrier for anybody to take part.
Accessibility: We will take the most accessible route, however not all paths are designed with prams or wheelchairs in mind - see this page for more details about accessibility. Unfortunately the paths are not able to accommodate mobility scooters.
RivelinCo's Family Foraging Walks are led by James and Daniele from Edible Year: James and Daniele have been running foraging walks in and around Sheffield for over 5 years. They have shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for wild food with hundreds of people and are passionate about helping people connect to nature and their local environment. Alongside foraging walks and courses they also run food-growing, fruit tree pruning, grafting and other food related workshops, and the Edible Year course; a year-long exploration into urban wild food and medicine around Sheffield.
