About this Event
Announcement: Documentary Screening & Discussion on Islam’s Role in Combating Racism
Join us for a special complimentary event at the Seton Calgary Public Library on Saturday, February 1st, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The South Calgary Ilm & Tarbiya Centre is proud to present the documentary “Bilal: A New Breed of Hero”, which tells the inspiring story of Bilal ibn Rabah, one of the most renowned figures in Islamic history and the first muezzin (caller to prayer) of Islam.
Following the screening, there will be a thought-provoking discussion on how Islam has, throughout history and continues to, combat racism and discrimination in a way that no other religion has. This event will highlight the importance of equality, justice, and the power of unity in the face of prejudice.
This event is open to families of all ages, and we encourage you to attend and engage in this important conversation.
