Kids ages 8-11 and their family members are invited to join library staff from NC State University Libraries to build a wooden hydraulic robotic arm from a STEM kit. This workshop will provide hands-on experience in mechanical engineering by building a robotic arm capable of lifting, manipulating, and rotating objects by up to 90 degrees. This kit demonstrates how water can power a machine, offering insights into fluid dynamics and mechanical functions. All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Limit one kit per family; parents/guardians must accompany participating child at all times. Pre-registration is required and space is limited, so if you are no longer able to attend, please let us know so that we may release your spot to another child and their family.
This workshop is part of the Learning is Fun Family Series.
