Family Day

Families can join the Highland Park Library for a night of fun! Supplies will be provided for open ended crafting and play, and families can mingle with each other. While families are having fun, the SMU KID Lab will delve into their research into childhood development.

All ages welcome.

About the SMU KID Lab

The SMU Kids In Development (KID) Lab operates under Southern Methodist University's Department of Psychology and studies how young children grow and learn.

Their research focuses on young children's cognitive and language development, with special interest in technology and digital media.

In an effort to be mindful of Library resources and performers, and to provide all residents with an equal opportunity to attend programs, we ask that any individual who registers for an event and is unable to attend provide 24 hours notice of cancellation by email or phone. Cancellations can also be made via Eventbrite.

Registrants who do not provide proper notice for 3 separate events will be restricted from registering for the next two events. Individuals who are temporarily restricted may still be admitted to a program on a conditional basis, provided that space is available, they are present, and all standby/waitlist registrants have been contacted and given the opportunity to attend.
