About this Event

Chiarina’s annual family concert goes local this season with a focus on two pivotal composers who not only shaped DC’s musical legacy but also left a mark on the worlds of classical music, ragtime, Broadway, and jazz. We’ll explore Cook’s and White’s captivating music and music of the figures they knew and influenced — including Antonín Dvořák, Duke Ellington, and more — and learn how they achieved success despite obstacles presented by racism. Best enjoyed by ages 5 and up.
