Families! Paint Your Own Blue Dog inspired by artist George Rodrigue

Need to get out of the heat during these dog days of summer? Sign up now and spend the afternoon with your kids, grandchildren, or other young friends to paint your own Blue Dog in the style of famous artist George Rodrigue! Do you know about Louisiana artist George Rodrigue and his renowned Blue Dog? How did these whimsical paintings get so famous? Rodrigue used the Blue Dog to say things about his life and our world in a lighthearted and engaging way and in this workshop, we’re going to do that too! No matter your skill level, you’ll be provided with all the materials, guidance, and cheerful encouragement you need to create your own 8 x 10 painting. To get inspired, we’ll watch a short video (5 minutes), take a peek at previous student work, and review some of Rodrigue's Blue Dog paintings. This session welcomes kids 8+ accompanied by a paid adult attending the workshop with them. Adults with kids grandkids, or other young friends will love this workshop. Students: This session welcomes kids 8+ as long as they have a paid adult attending with them. Younger children admitted only with permission from the artist. Adults with kids, grandkids, or friends will love this workshop!

Cost: $50 per person, plus $5 materials fee
