About Jeanna Cox. Ms. Cox is originally from Michigan and relocated to Florida 35 years ago. She obtained her Masters Degree in Business Administration from the former Metropolitan University now Kreiser University. These paths led her to researching and write grants for nonprofit organizations which resulted in Polk County government asking her to become their grant writer. She worked for Polk County for 10 years and during her time there she provided technical assistance to nonprofits throughout the County and began to understand that many small nonprofits are not able to secure Federal, State, and even local government grants as they do not possess or can show program and financial capability to manage government funds. After serving her time for Polk County, she retired and started her own business, helping nonprofits build capacity. Over the last 5 years, Ms. Cox has successfully secured an average of $2 million dollars a year for the nonprofits she works with, and many have gone on to secure Federal, State, and local government grants and bring a full-time grant writer on staff.
