Fall of the Equinox : Women Embodied | Empowered : Nesbitt | Van Dyken

In 1982, when airbrushing & anorexia were at their peak in the high fashion world of modeling, Kathleen Cecilia Nesbitt embarks on an independent project at Columbia College in Chicago; Ruth Thorne-Thomsen her advisor, endeavoring to reveal inate beauty within a woman's shape, without constraints society places in the minds of men and women of how a woman should "look".

43 years in the making, "Women Embodied" has found a home at Timeless Arts Gallery & Studio in Chicago's vibrant West Lakeview / Roscoe Village Neighborhoods.

Joining Kathleen for this 2-Artist Exhibition, Nicole Van Dyken presents "Empowered", stippling art, digital collage and original canvas paintings, designed to elicit feelings of strength, vigor & enlightenment amongst those fortunate enough to see these eclectic imaginings in person.

In 2013 Nicole made the tough decision to leave a successful HR career to become a stay-at-home mom when her daughter was born. This allowed her to rekindle her passion for art. Empowered is Nikki's first exhibition at Timless Arts Gallery & Studio, brought to life by metal artist & jewelry maker, Rob John Proue, in the Fall of 2023.

Free Parking right in front of the gallery on SOUTHBOUND Ashland Ave., plus around the corners on Barry Ave & Nelson St. If you can find a spot, they're free.

CTA Belmont #77 & Ashland #9 Buses have stops within walking distance.

CTA Red Line & Brown Line at 945 W. Belmont. Jump on the Belmont #77 Bus going west to Ashalnd Ave, then walk south on Ashland, past Central Savings Bank to 3040

Paulina Brown Line Station is 0.5 miles. Walk south on Lincoln when exiting the station, go to 6-corners, and continue south on Ashland, 900 feet past Central Savings Bank.
