Celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season, the Brighton Symphony Orchestra will present their Fall Concert on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, 7;30PM at the Temple B'rith Kodesh Wolk Family Center Auditorium, 2131 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618. Admission is free, and donations will be gratefully accepted.
Directed by Ric Jones, the concert will open with the dramatic Reign of the Septims by Jeremy Soule.
Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 (Midsommarvaka) by Hugo Alfven will follow. Wikipedia describes it as one of the best-known pieces of Swedish music and is based on a series of Swedish folk melodies.
The third piece on the program is the Rustic Wedding Symphony (Ländliche Hochzeit), Op. 26 by Carl Goldmark. It is a charming five-movement suite that evokes the spirit of a wedding in the countryside.
